Situational
Assessment Program
CRITERIA FOR SAP
It’s our goal that every person in recovery gets back to work in a fulfilling way. A participating work-site must maintain the following guidelines:
Provide meaningful employment for a period of at least 5 weeks from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Hours may vary.
Provide supervision to assure training in work tasks as well as introduction to staff and members and office policies and procedures.
Monitor punctuality, attendance and provide breaks.
Provide communication and feedback to interns regarding performance and enlist feedback from them in regards to their individual needs.
Collaborate with EPRA whenever necessary to facilitate a good working relationship, bring up any issues that might occur and keep an open channel of dialogue available.
Complete the evaluation form and the end of the transitional work period. (Provided)
Be capable of participating on a regular basis.
Maintain members’ anonymity in recovering individual’s alcoholism or substance abuse by introducing members as EPRA volunteering interns.
The Situational Assessment Program (SAP) offers clients the opportunity to participate in an internship in a chosen field of interest.
Internships typically range from five to eight weeks with three days at an approved worksite and one day participating in process groups at EPRA.
The SAP can be invaluable in helping to enhance self-confidence and develop healthy work habits. The SAP also offers current work experience, references, and relevant job exposure while the groups can provide support and feedback throughout the process.
We currently offer internships in a variety of areas including culinary, building maintenance, human services, office administration, and medical support among others.
