Awards and Recognition
The effectiveness of EPRA’s program has been recognized by professionals in the field of both substance abuse and vocational rehabilitation.
The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism cited EPRA as “an innovative system linkage between alcohol and other drug treatment providers and the vocational rehabilitation community.”
The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services identified EPRA as a unique model in which “services are organized using a full-day structured approach in a discrete environment conducive to creating a work-like milieu.”
In honor of 20 years of achievement, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani proclaimed April 1, 1998 as “Employment Program for Recovered Alcoholics Day” in New York City.
On June 9, 2000, EPRA received the Rehabilitation Program of Distinction Award from the National Rehabilitation Association and the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association, Metropolitan chapters.
